Endodontics for all: Dr. Nieves & Mercy Clinic

If you’ve met Dr. Nieves, you’ll instantly see that one of his greatest qualities is his generosity. It may be no surprise to you that in his spare time, Dr. Nieves volunteers with Mercy Clinic, a free medical clinic in south Fort Worth that provides care to underserved populations in zip codes 76110 and 76104.

Mercy Clinic was founded in 2011 and works specifically with individuals who either can’t afford health care or don’t qualify for insurance. Because oral health care is such a major contributor to overall health, Dr. Nieves volunteers to help with root canals, tooth pain and general dental issues to make sure patients are back on track and pain free.

“Anything we can do to help them out, a cleaning or an extraction or a root canal, means money they can use to pay the rent.”

-Dr. Nieves

The patients that Dr. Nieves sees often are working two to three jobs and also taking care of their children, so time and money are scarce. This leaves little resources for endodontic/dental care, which is often overlooked in the grand scheme of daily life. If you’ve ever had tooth pain, you’ll know just how much it can interfere with daily tasks. That’s why Dr. Nieves is passionate about making sure he can provide his time to Mercy Clinic so that his patients can stop worrying about tooth pain and keep focusing on taking care of their families.

Mercy Clinic runs 100% on donations and helps with everything from healthcare checkups to prescriptions and dental care. Visit their website to learn more about services offered, who is eligible, hours and how you can support their mission.
